Guest families participate in the Homeward Bound Program, in which they work closely with a case manager to determine needs and establish goals.   Together, they make a reasonable plan of action to help the family achieve these goals.

While guest families receive lots of guidance and assistance, Family Promise is a self-sufficiency program.  To be successful and make a lasting change, hard work is required.

Families in the program do not pay for food, rent or utilities during their stay. Laundry facilities, are provided, as are all basic needs including laundry soap, hygiene products, and transportation. This allows the family to save their income towards housing.

Once a family leaves the shelter, they continue to work with the Homeward Bound Project Manager for up to two years. We believe this aftercare program is critical to maintaining housing and promoting family stability.
